Life

You're life is ending
You're end is near
Your status is pending
But do not fear
For you can live forever
Through books and movies
Your name will end, never
To achive this brand of immortality
You must make a difference in this life
Or perhaps have children with your wife
But if kids don't fit in your reality
Then perhaps you can do something more
Something great and heroic
Like stopping a war

  1. You're reaching for something here. I like how you start with how life is like a pending thought. Then you get into how we could live on eternally. You give different examples. Maybe this was just me but it seemed like you were writing it almost from a vain perception. It seemed like you were being almost sarcastic and cynical near the end. I'm probably just reading too far into your piece. Overall I dug this poem because it was simplistic and seemed very understandable. I like the fact you didn't bullshit me with something flowery. I have a tendency to do shit like that sometimes. Anyone can have a deep thought, but it's how you communicate that makes the difference. You were pretty honest. That can be a rare quality in some work. Gold star :)
