Descriptive Writing

These are the pieces of desriptive writing I wrote for a writing exercise. I would like to see people's opinions on them.

The binding of the book was not in the best shape. The corners of the cover were bent inwards. Along the sides of the book, a bored student decided to draw some pictures. But when I open the book, a whole new image appeared before me. The pages were clean and crisp, unadulterated by pen or pencil. The contents of the book were shielded from the danger of the outside by the book binding and the book cover, like bed covers protecting a baby.

He seemed confused by something. It looked as if he was trying to get somewhere but didn't actually know how to get there. He patrolled the classroom, enscribing circles in the floor. Once in a while, he would stop and take in his surroundings. Oftentimes, he would stop a second and then decide to move in the opposite direction. It was as if he didn't even know his destination.

It was as if this room was stuck in time, a place where nothing of interest occurred. It was plainly colored, and the way the seats were arranged resembled an office. The only noise that could be heard was the incessant whirring of the computers.
